Smooth jazz is more than a genre of soulful, danceable and relaxing music. It’s an exciting lifestyle for many of the active, enthusiastic, over-40 crowd who enjoy fine dining, first-class travel, spa indulgences and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Their passion for this once-top-rated radio format is slightly eclipsed by the many exhilarating adventures it offers year-round: Valentine’s Day concerts in February, winery jazz venues from spring through fall, art festivals and food fairs, summer music festivals, full-ship jazz charters, holiday tours and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Sunday champagne jazz brunches are also quite popular, with Spaghettini Fine Dining & Entertainment in Seal Beach, California, perched firmly at the No. 1 “Best Of” spot. One never knows when a celebrity or top smooth jazz artist will be dining and/or making a special stage appearance there.

This festive and friendly culture continues to flourish despite a decline in the radio format that started it all.

Since 1999, Smooth Jazz News has offered prime editorial coverage of the genre’s finest experiences through the print magazine, which is published seven times per year (and can also be read online at www.smoothjazznews.com).

Our blog supplements our award-winning publication. Here, we post breaking news, contests for free concert tickets, festival updates, photos from our jazz travels and other exciting announcements that may not be covered in the print magazine.

I hope you visit our blog often, comment on posts and spread the word to your friends!

Sincerely,

Melanie Maxwell,
