Ray Parker Jr. will be honored with the 2,518th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, March 6. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will feature Bill Withers and Brian Holland guest speakers. And, Parker plans to have his guitar close by so he can play an acoustic medley of his songs, including his No. 1 hit, “Ghostbusters.”
“We have amazing musicians on the Walk of Fame, and adding Ray Parker Jr. to our famous Walk of Fame is the icing on the cake,” said Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president/CEO. “His star will be next to fellow musical greats Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie and The Funk Brothers.”
Fans are welcome to attend the star unveiling, scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., at 7065 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, California. This event will also be streamed live exclusively on www.walkoffame.com. For more information, visit www.walkoffame.com/pages/upcoming-ceremonies.
I hope that Bill Murray shows up. Ghostbusters has to be one of the most iconic songs from any movie.
